History:

Was raced, then sent to a kill pen. The lady from the rescue had saved her, she found her bagged up and we`re assuming she foaled and probably lost the foal. From there, she was adopted, the family`s daughter rode her for about a week, then was given a gelding and was absolutely over Zuki. Zuki wasn`t really touched for about 5 months, and I was in the process of looking for a bay Thoroughbred specifically, and had about given up on even looking after about 3 months. Drove up 2-2 and a half hours to where she was located, rode in freezing temperature and some snow on the ground/falling yet (just walk/trot in the dry patch) , and decided no need to think, I want her. She was trailered in 2 days later, and that`s when the work began. Obviously green, she was a bit hotheaded at first especially, but now we`re jumping (only a 1’6” until she`s back into it completely), w/t/c, and working on lead changes and she`s doing fabulous!

Sometimes small bucks while lunged, and only did one small one under saddle since I`ve had her.

Yep! Working only on 1’6” straights but going to be upping them very soon hopefully since she`s fully into being worked now.

Not sure, when she was loaded to be brought to my barn she gave a bit of a fit from what I was told.

Not 100% positive. Assumed she had a right ankle injury that was what put her out of racing, but she was checked and is sound.

She has a red sparkly one, and a brown one with fluffy lining that`s cheetah spotted.

Yep! Just needs a bit of work staying out.

Racing but other than that don`t think so.

Honestly, I wouldn`t trust letting kids with her on ground, but riding possibly, as long as there`s someone with them just because of her being a bit stubborn to get to frame. But, I don`t let anybody besides myself ride her, and my little sister probably won`t even.

Yeah! Especially if they bring her treats :)

Pretty much so. She was a bit lazy the last time I rode her, but doesn`t seem to mind it.

Personality Traits:

Acts cute in the pasture, likes to play with her hay (ie: cover you in it…), stubborn though when she doesn`t want to do something.

Love Her Home?:

I don`t see why not! She`s got a nice stall, big pasture, pasture buds, a nice arena to be worked in, she better love it!

Stall Buddies?:

She`s usually out, with a quarter horse (Zoey), and a very small Arabian (Sunshine). Inside though she really has a thing for the gelding in the stall next to her (Bubba), and the one next to his stall (Zahn).

My lesson with the girls went so great today ! Zuki`s coming along quite well. Definitely has that hot-headed Thoroughbred mare attitude, but when she gets over herself I couldn`t be happier with her! :)
